Separating glass by color makes it far more valuable | Press of Atlantic City: “Regarding the Nov. 23 article, “Rising costs, falling value could shatter glass recycling,” which mentioned our firm: … We don’t think single-stream recycling represents the best way to recycle glass or, for that matter, other materials whose post-collection value is degraded by being mixed in with all manner of other stuff. Those states that have deposit legislation or separated-stream collection generally enjoy far higher old-bottle-to-new-bottle recycling rates than areas where single-stream collection is the rule.” By Peter Leone, President, Leone Industries, Bridgeton.
