Construction Of New Quinnipiac River Bridge To Begin Next Spring – Courant.com: “Work begins next spring on a new Q Bridge, with five lanes in each direction, exit and entrance ramps, and full shoulders.

The work is part of an even larger project — a $2.2 billion, 16-year endeavor to unclog the New Haven corridor. The project began in 2000 with the construction of a train station on State Street for the Shoreline East commuter railroad. Along with highway traffic counts, the debate has intensified in recent years about whether Connecticut has devoted enough money, planning and resources to public transit.”
