Attorney General: CRRA’s Withdrawal of Ash Landfill Proposal “smart and sensitive to the public interest and environmental values”

Aug 31st, 2009 | By | Category: Recycling

“The CRRA has rightly extinguished its ash landfill proposal — heeding the public and preserving a pristine, rural environment from irreparable destruction. This decision is smart and sensitive to the public interest and environmental values. We owe citizen activists and advocates a debt of gratitude for their courage and conviction in this fight.

“Reasonably affordable waste disposal is perfectly possible without turning 500 acres of pristine land into a dumping ground for refuse ash. There are economic and technological driving forces that will make this means of disposal obsolete.
