SoundWaters and UCONN Stamford Host Mayoral Candidate Debate on the Environment with David Martin, Democrat; Michael Pavia, Republican; and Rolf Maurer, Green Party 7 p.m. Wed., Oct. 7, 2009, UCONN Stamford, Gen Re Auditorium.  The 90-minute event, moderated by Leigh Shemitz, Ph.D., Executive Director of SoundWaters, is open to the public.

The debate’s format will include opening and closing statements from the candidates, rotating questions, answers, and rebuttals. The tight schedule does not allow for questions from the audience, although the candidates will be available afterwards to talk with attendees.

The UCONN Stamford campus, 1 University Place, is located on the corner of Washington Boulevard and Broad Street in Stamford, with free parking on the second level of the UCONN garage on Washington Blvd. The event will be held in the Gen Re Auditorium on the first floor.
