Nov 6th, 2009 | By Christopher Zurcher | Category: RiverThe Greenfield-based Connecticut River Watershed Council and the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission were awarded $77,206 by the state to continue an ongoing, volunteer-based bacteria monitoring program in the Connecticut River watershed in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Meanwhile, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers together with The Nature Conservancy will receive $359,000 in the new federal Energy and Water Appropriations Bill for a comprehensive multi-year study of the hydrology of surface and groundwater in the Connecticut River Basin.
