Stamford, CT — Thursday, November 19, celebrate the season at The Green Faire at Stamford GreenDrinks with music, food, green technology and products in the Pavilion at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the last Stamford GreenDrinks of the year! Free admission and free, reusable event bags with product samples to the first 100 people at the Faire.

“Given today’s dramatic climatic and economic challenges, a more interconnected, holistic direction for the city is worth pursuing,” said Green Party Mayoral Candidate in Stamford, Rolf Maurer. “One that supports homegrown commerce that creates local employment opportunities right here (without dollars leaving town), invigorates a sense of community through more publicly mediated activities, increases urban agriculture and enhanced public transportation options by incorporating a bicycle and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure.” The Green Party will be one of the Green Faire exhibitors.

Sponsored by the Community Innovations Grants Program and the CT Clean Energy Fund, the Green Faire at Stamford GreenDrinks will have a lively mixture of people from sustainable businesses, environmental organizations, academia, conservation, government, and nonprofits. The Faire will begin with opening remarks by Mayor Dannel Malloy, followed by music from EcoFest’s Al Smith. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with people you know, to make new friends and to learn something new.

Green tech exhibitors include Sunlight Solar, Pure Point Energy and Enabling Technologies. Other Green Faire features include high-tech green product exhibitors, conservation organizations including Riverlution, free samples, Sustainable Stamford, the GM Fuel Cell car and a special reception for the Fairfield County Green Coast Award winners.

Stamford GreenDrinks usually meets from 6-8 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of every month January through October, at the Northern Lights Bar and Lounge, located in the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, 243 Tresser Blvd. It is an opportunity to discuss sustainability and environmental issues in a friendly and casual setting.
