Bozrah, Conn. — The state Department of Environmental Protection planned to monitor cleanup efforts in the aftermath of a fire Friday at the Kofkoff Egg Farm in Bozrah that destroyed a sprawling vacant chicken coop.

DEP spokesman Dennis Schain said the building contained an estimated 20 55-gallon barrels. Some or all of them may have contained insecticides.
