NORTH BRANFORD — The South Central Regional Water Authority is hoping to open more of its property in town to the public for recreational activities.

Officials approached the Town Council earlier this month with a proposal to allow hiking and bicycling around Lake Gaillard, a reservoir owned by the water authority, though it may not be open to people until 2011.
