Griswold school gets funds to tap earth for energy

Griswold has received a $280,000 grant from the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund to help pay for an energy-saving heating system at the new Griswold Elementary School.

The money will cover about 35 percent of the $805,000 cost of installing a geothermal system in the new school, School Building Committee Chairman Franklin Everett said.
