The will that may save Quaker Brook

Quaker Brook land in New Fairfield, Sherman and Patterson, N.Y., deserves to stay open and beautiful for the public.

For one thing, it’s right in the Connecticut corridor of The Highlands — the 2-million-acre swath of Appalachian Mountain land that runs through Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

Preserving it would be critical if one of the dreams of the Highlands Coalition — a hiking trail that runs from southeastern Pennsylvania to Litchfield — is ever to come to pass.
