‘Tank-Yankers’: Envriotech & Pollution

The owners of a Bethel contracting company and a Norwalk testing laboratory pleaded guilty earlier this month to larceny and perjury charges for fraudulently charging three Connecticut homeowners a total of more than $80,000 for unnecessary remediation work.

Industry experts say most of these hucksters get away with their scams and potentially hazardous errors because Connecticut has no environmental laws or regulations governing the removal of residential underground oil tanks.
