Town of Lebanon’s draft 2010 Plan of Conservation and Development released

Jul 3rd, 2010 | By | Category: Uncategorized

The Planning and Zoning Commission is pleased to provide you with Lebanon’s Draft 2010 Plan of Conservation and Development (“POCD”). The POCD is Lebanon’s vision for the coming decade and provides the framework for local decision making. The POCD is mandated by the State to be updated by the Planning and Zoning Commission every 10 years.

The POCD identifies Lebanon’s goals and makes recommendations with regard to guiding future development in town. Lebanon’s Town Boards and Commissions are expected to rely heavily on the POCD when making short and long term decisions.

In 2008 the Planning and Zoning Commission appointed a 10-member Plan of Conservation and Development Committee to work with the Town Planner and develop draft recommendations for the 2010 POCD. Committee members included representatives from the Planning and Zoning Commission, Conservation Commission, Lebanon Business Association, as well as farmers and those from other professions. The POCD Committee worked with Town Boards and Commissions and held 20 public meetings before issuing its recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Commission earlier this year.

The Planning and Zoning Commission has developed the Draft 2010 Plan of Conservation and Development for your review. Please consider attending our public hearing on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Lyman Memorial High School Auditorium where we will present the draft and receive public comments. Copies of the Draft POCD are available in the Town Clerk’s Office, Library and online at www.lebanontownhall.org.
