Barn Survey in NW CT

A workshop to acquaint volunteers with the work will be held July 28 at 6 p.m. at the Kent town hall. Light refreshments will be provided. There will be a brief presentation on the history of the barn in Connecticut and then instruction on how to categorize barns by type, use and construction. The resource identification workshop will involve noting the approximate locations of the barns to be surveyed.

Towns will be divided up into manageable areas for the survey groups to assess. After a team, which consists of at least two volunteers, has been assigned to an area, it will have four weeks to survey the area and input data in the database found at
