Fuel Cell Power Plant Installed at South Windsor Frozen Food Plant

Danbury-based FuelCell Energy Inc., which employs about 225 people at a manufacturing facility in Torrington, said Tuesday it has sold a 300-kilowatt fuel cell power plant to power Carla’s Pasta Inc.’s frozen-food processing facility in South Windsor. Environmental Leader also ran a story about this Connecticut company reporting that “Carla’s Pasta plans to install a fuel cell power plant at its frozen food processing facility in South Windsor, Conn., to ensure 24/7 reliable power, cut fuel costs and lower its carbon footprint. The fuel cell is expected to provide 60 percent of the energy needs of the recently expanded facility.”
