Shoreline Greenway Trail Chair Looks to East Haven First

The idea of the Shoreline Greenway Trail (SGT) isn’t new-the proposed walking trail from Lighthouse Point in New Haven to Hammonasset Beach in Madison has been in the works for 10 years. What is new, however, is an idea proposed by SGT Board of Directors Chairman Chip Angle that was presented to the Guilford Board of Selectmen (BOS) at its meeting last week.

The idea, said Angle, is to sink a hefty portion of the one federal grant for the project, about $1.6 million, into the East Haven portion of the project, making it “impressive,” rather than distributing the funds as originally planned to three towns: Guilford, Branford, and East Haven.
