‘Political Maneuvers’ Can’t Stop Fall River LNG Proposal

Sep 27th, 2010 | By | Category: LNG

In a letter to the Worcester Business Journal Online, Gregg Landes, Vice president business development, and project manager at Weaver’s Cove Energy LLC, responds to a recent article by Amanda Roberge, “Does the Bay State Need an LNG Terminal?” (WBJ, Sept. 13, 2010).

He disagrees with a quotation from Rep. James McGovern, D-Worcester, who describes the private sector jobs to be created by Weaver’s Cove Energy’s LNG terminal, which is slated for construction on the shores of the Taunton River and Mount Hope Bay in Fall River and Somerset, as ‘minimal, frankly.’

“Weaver’s Cove Energy disagrees and we speculate that the thousands of local union laborers slated to build the project would join with us in that assertion,” he writes.
