Moose Proliferation Brings Problems for Drivers, Forests

The two moose sightings logged in Western Connecticut last week, one of which ended in a car accident, point to a situation state officials have been highlighting for several years—these large animals are living among us and their population is growing.

Over the past 17 years, moose sightings increased from an average of 4 per year in the mid-1990s to 69 in 2007.
