Equipped with nets, insect traps, black lights, fishing rods and motion-sensitive cameras that they fastened to tree limbs, the tribe of specialists and citizen scientists identified 820 species at Stratford Point, Roosevelt Forest, public parks and a few private properties.

The wildlife survey, coined the Stratford Bioblitz, is an undertaking by the Yale Peabody Museum to monitor the plants and animals that pass in and out of this coastal community over the course of a year.
