State wins brownfield award

Nov 1st, 2010 | By | Category: Development

The transformation of a skanky old tank farm along the Connecticut River in East Hartford into the beautiful new campus of Goodwin College has just been named the “Brownfield Project of the Year” by the Northeastern Economic Developers Association.

The award-winning, widely praised project, which involved the town, the school and a few state agencies, underscores the need to keep cleaning and reusing the state’s old and often polluted industrial sites — now more than ever.
