WINSTED — The Winchester Land Trust’s proposal to buy easements on town land found the favor of Gov. M. Jodi Rell, who signed off on the plan to the tune of $500,000 — pending town approval.

The first steps towards that goal took place during the Board of Selectmen’s Monday night meeting, when the board voted 6-1 to send the project forward to both the Planning and Zoning Commission and town attorney Kevin Nelligan.
