Environmentalists calling for end to water secrecy laws

Details about public water infrastructure, such as where companies drill wells, has been kept under tight wraps ever since Sept. 11. Keeping that information confidential is a matter of public safety, water companies say. But environmental advocates are arguing that water companies are using that as an excuse to prevent citizens from reviewing and questioning their water mining practices.
