Milford takes stance against recycling facility – Connecticut Post

MILFORD — The Board of Aldermen and about 25 residents made it clear Monday night in City Hall they are not happy a state Superior Court judge and the Department of Environmental Protection have intervened in what they consider a local issue ­– whether there should be a recycling facility here.

The board unanimously approved a resolution by Alderman Bernard Joy Jr. calling for the city to seek intervenor status and to hire outside counsel to represent it at hearings held by the DEP on an application for an expanded permit by Recycling Inc. of 990 Naugatuck Ave.
