The group responsible for regulating the coastal Atlantic fisheries is correct in seeking only a modest reduction in the number of lobsters that lobstermen can harvest from southern New England Waters and Long Island Sound.

This week the American Lobster Management Board approved a 10 percent reduction in lobster catches. The board is part of the Atlantic State Marine Fisheries Commission.
