Feds reject developer’s bid for Army site

The federal government has rejected a local real estate developer’s proposal to build a destination resort at the site of the long-vacant Army engine plant.

Milford-based developer Bob Hartmann of Hartmann Development submitted the only bid last month in the General Service Administration’s third attempt this year to auction off the 78-acre brownfield. The prior two auctions drew no bidders.
