Biodiesel plant opens in Bridgeport

A plant that converts used cooking oil into biodiesel opened in Bridgeport’s West End neighborhood Monday. Initially, Bridgeport Biodiesel should produce 1 million gallons of biodiesel a year, enough to heat about 550 average-sized homes in Connecticut. It has the capacity to produce 3 million gallons a year.
