Chlorine discharge suit ‘close to settlement’

A suit by the Coastal Area Fisherman’s Association and the Connecticut Fund for the Environment against the city charging improper use of chlorine in the handling of effluent from the sewage treatment plant is close to settlement, according to Corporation Counsel Walter Marcus. The suit charges the city with releasing too much chlorine on 872 days and too little chlorine.
