FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Three Fairfield students were honored as eco-friendly thinkers recently. Izzy Roth, Michael McMahon and Karina McMahon placed in the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund’s “eesmarts” student essay contest.

“The eesmarts statewide initiative for students K-12 plays an important part in building greater awareness of the benefits of energy efficiency and in stimulating the thinking of young people, who, after all, will be the key to developing the energy solutions of the future,” Daniel Etsy, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection commissioner, said at the ceremony.
