Mayor Bill Finch has hired a city-born rising star in the planning field to lead his administration’s economic redevelopment office during a pivotal period.

David Kooris, 32, comes to Bridgeport after seven years with the Regional Plan Association of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, a consulting body widely employed in the region. Kooris was RPA’s vice president, working out of Stamford.
