Group wants to improve emissions program

A group of environmentalists, business leaders and organizations from around the Northeast are urging Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and his counterparts in other states to improve standards of a regional program designed to reduce emissions that cause air pollution.

Officials with Environment Northeast, a regional organization with offices in Connecticut, say that extreme whether across New England and the nation has given the public an increased interest in global warming and the affect it has on climate.
