Gov. Dannel P. Malloy unveiled an energy policy on Friday that promotes increased use of natural gas and improved energy efficiency, and local interests say they fit in.

Business executives and elected leaders connected with two Eastern Connecticut wood-burning power plant projects said their plans will help the state meet its renewable energy goals. Executives have plans to use the plentiful forests of New London and Windham counties.
