Stamford Advocate editorial: New energy strategy has promise for state

The governor’s Comprehensive Energy Strategy for Connecticut aims to increase conservation and efficiency, always welcome goals. But the real meat of his plan is to convert up to 300,000 households and 75 percent of businesses from oil to natural gas by 2020.

That ambitious idea has stirred up environmentalists, who point out the potential risks of accessing natural gas. But the governor is right that it is unrealistic to think that energy can be made cheaper without natural gas being a big part of the equation.
