ENE is seeking a Development Director to advance ENE’s strategic development, branding and revenue diversification efforts

Position Responsibilities. The Development Director will lead ENE’s Development team and work closely with our Communication team and program staff and provide key institutional leadership in the following areas of responsibilities:

  • Foundation Relations and Grants Management: Coordinate foundation outreach materials and plans; identify and pursue new foundation opportunities; work with state and project teams to draft Letters of Inquiry, proposals and grant reports; track submission and reporting deadlines; build and maintain database of foundations; plan appropriate briefings and events
  • Donor Development: Refine and implement ENE’s emerging major donor plan in conjunction with ENE board and staff; establish and organize list of donors and databases; create donor services plan and events
  • Board of Directors and Advisory Committee: coordinate meetings and activities with ENE’s Board of Directors and Advisory Committee; assist with recruiting new members, planning events and maintaining contacts
  • Strategic Development: implement and refine and maintain updates to ENE’s development strategy
  • Outreach Materials: Drafting and preparation of organizational materials, including brochures, newsletter, and monthly and annual reports. Experience with design is a plus
  • Web and Social Media: capacity to work with staff to update and manage ENE’s web site and ENE’s online presence and strategy, including Facebook, Wiki, Twitter is a plus

Qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of work experience required in development or public relations
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental and sustainability issues
  • Familiarity with Northeast and environmental funder/donor networks is a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite required; Web editing and design (CMS or HTML) experience preferred; familiarity with Constant Contact and Adobe Illustrator preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Organized, able to meet and set deadlines

This position can be structured as full or part time with pro-rated benefits and will be based at one of ENE’s offices, with a preference for Boston, MA, Providence, RI or Rockport, ME. Other locations or offsite arrangements may be considered for the right candidate. Travel to ENE office locations will be expected. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
