SCSU goes green on new science building

Southern Connecticut State University’s $49 million science building will have rooftop solar panels and be LEED certified, the New Haven school said today.

SCSU will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Friday for the 103,600-square-foot building, which is designed to meet requirements for the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED-Silver certification and will have a pitched roof to accommodate solar panels.
