A two-year pilot program to introduce Connecticut students to career options in the green-energy field will be kicked off locally during a presentation from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Norwich Technical High School.

The so-called Connecticut Clean Trades Program, which also includes students from Ella T. Grasso Technical High School in Groton, will involve student assessments of how their schools are using energy, recycling trash and maintaining water and environmental quality. Solutions that students come up with will be presented to school officials at the end of the academic year during an energy-saving summit.
