Phragmites Eradication Planned in Ripley Swamp in Litchfield – News – The Litchfield County Times

The Ripley Land Trust and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will work in tandem to eliminate Phragmites in Ripley Swamp, an invasive species of plants that threatens to spread throughout the property.

Each fall for the next three years, DEEP members will use a herbicide on the property to spray the plant and kill it. The following winter and into the spring, DEEP will mow the plants.
