The Bridgeport fuel cell power plant that went online last week brings many state benefits along with it [Jan. 3, Page 1, “Power Plant Called A Model”]. Its economy of scale makes Fuel Cell Energy’s fuel cells one of the lowest cost installations in the world; it creates Connecticut jobs, it is manufactured in Connecticut; it uses a brownfields site; and it brings a tax base to Bridgeport, one of the poorest cities in the state.
