Portland to use $200K grant to clean up possible contaminants at Riverfront Park

Town and state officials are welcoming a $200,000 state grant that will used to evaluate three riverfront properties.

Portland was one of 21 towns throughout the state that received brownfields assessment grants from the Department of Economic and Community Development.

The grants were announced by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy on Wednesday, during a visit to a brownfields site in Norwich.
