‘Too many unanswered questions’ has Ansonia recycling proposal on hold

City officials won’t be taking a road trip anytime soon to Orlando to check out an organic recycling plant on Disney property similar to one a developer wants to build here.

That’s because there are “too many unanswered questions” about Greenpoint Energy Partner’s proposal to build a $20 million plant near the city’s sewer plant on Division Street.

“It’s too premature, and we need to do some more fact gathering,” said Economic Development Director Sheila O’Malley. “There are unanswered questions and we are continuing to do our due diligence. The mayor would like to do some further research on our timetable.”
