Changes at Environmental Headlines
Environmental Headlines will be seven years old soon. I love to publish The Headlines because it keeps me and all of my readers up-to-date on what’s going on in Connecticut’s environmental community. More than 5,000 people visit the site regularly.
Many readers generously contribute to The Headlines every year, and you know how much I appreciate you and how valuable your support has been in keeping Environmental Headlines going. I thank each and every one of you!
The time has come for readers to pay for access to Environmental Headlines.
If you’re interested in continuing to have access to the information on Environmental Headlines, please visit the Register page above.
Some may not realize that Environmental Headlines is a labor of love for Connecticut – our, land, water, wildlife, etc. – which has not met its costs. Since inception, I’ve spent time working with friends and advisers to develop business plans, trying to secure grants, trying to sell advertising, securing a fiduciary agent. We have brainstormed many options to keep access to Environmental Headlines free for all. I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. I love you and appreciate all you did.
You, the readers, decide what happens next. Either:
1. Enough readers will subscribe at $5/month for continued access to all that Environmental Headlines provides to your work and life, or
2. Environmental Headlines may “shut down the presses” and I will get to shift focus to my other interests and passions.
Access to Environmental Headlines includes the stories that have been written, contributed, aggregated and curated; the website and database of past stories; the newsfeed; events; and keeping in touch with readers who have concerns they’d like me to address.
$5 Monthly Subscription
I’m starting with a monthly subscription only so I can judge how many are truly interested in continuing to receive The Headlines. If enough people show interest by subscribing, then I will offer longer subscriptions, which will be more convenient for everyone.
What If You’ve Already Contributed?
Long-term financial supporters will be grandfathered in and will continue to receive updates. If you experience problems with this, please email email@example.com and I will do my best to make sure you continue to have access to Environmental Headlines.
Thank you very much for your support.
