2014 Connecticut Sierra Club Annual Awards Dinner 6-9 p.m. Nov. 8, Discovery Museum, Bridgeport
November 8, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Please join us on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for our eighth annual awards dinner at the Discovery Museum on the Fairfield/Bridgeport line. The event this year will be beautiful, elegant and educational. We’ll hear from Jen Siskind of Food & Water Watch, a delicious Italian feast (P&M Market) and flowing wine, and awards to present to worthy environmental champions. There will be appetizers from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to provide our members a chance to meet with us and each other, then a luscious buffet dinner, including vegetarian options. The first floor of the Discovery Museum will be open to explore during the evening, where fascinating scientific galleries await.
Tickets for the event are $50 per person in advance, $60 at the door. You can purchase your tickets here!! (purchasing your tickets in advance saves you money and let’s us know when we’re getting to capacity. This museum is smaller than last year’s space!)
Come join us in honoring environmental champion Sen. Ed Meyer, who is retiring from the senate this year after extraordinary service as chair of the Environment Committee.
We’re also honoring Rich Stanley for his 15 years of service to the Greater Hartford Group. Rich has been in charge of securing speakers and presentations monthly for the group as well as writing the letters to elected officials on numerous issues. In 15 years of monthly meetings, that’s a LOT of presentations and letters!
And honoring Terri Eickel, Executive Director of the Interreligious Eco Justice Network and her stellar work on events and recruitment for the People’s Climate March.
Or you can send a check to: CT Sierra Club, 2074 Park St. Suite 308, Hartford, CT 06106 BY NOVEMBER 4th.
The Museum is located at 4450 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, 06604 (just over the Fairfield town line near the Merrit Parkway Exit 47). (203) 372-3521. Come meet your humble local Sierra Club activists and talk to us about your concerns. We look forward to welcoming you to the museum!
