From Elm City Cycling:
Gathering at Parking Lot on Audubon & Orange Streets (look for signage)
We hope to educate bike-curious parents about ways to bicycle with children, help kids learn to ride safely, and increase the visibility of family biking in the Greater New Haven area. We will ride on the city streets with other traffic so children riding their own bikes must be able to follow directions, ride in a straight line, and start and stop on their own. Of course, children riding on bike seats, in trailers, on tag-alongs, cargo bikes, and tandems are most welcome, too!
Early cyclists on training wheels, push bikes, etc. will have a chance to ride in the parking lot. Come early!
We will have informal ride leaders and ‘sweepers’ who will travel slowly to make sure no one is left behind, and we obey traffic signs and laws. Of course, we have fun and ding our bells a lot, too!
A Brief Disclaimer:
The rides are informal gatherings of family cyclists. The spirit of our rides is to look out for one another. You are ultimately responsible for deciding what’s safe and appropriate for you and your family.Questions? Contact kidicalmassnewhaven @gmail.com or find us on Facebook.
