GBT awarded over $1.1 million in stimulus funds

Greater Bridgeport Transit has been awarded more than $1.1 million in stimulus funds under the Federal Transit Administration’s discretionary State of Good Repair program. SDAT completes its rounds in Bridgeport

Sustainability Design Assessment Team meeting in Bridgeport Today through Weds

The Sustainable Design Assessment Team’s “outsider” perspective will provide the city with “objective professional expertise free from any hidden agendas or political context,” according to Joel Mills, director of the American Institute of Architects’ Center for Communities by Design. Bridgeport was one of seven communities chosen this year for the Sustainable Design Assessment Team program.

NOAA Sea Grant Program to Benefit Rain Gardens and Storm Water in Bridgeport

NOAA’s National Sea Grant College Program has launched a one-time $1.2 million effort to help coastal communities prepare for the impacts of climate change.

The initiative is supporting rapid response, community-based, climate adaptation demonstration projects including rain gardens and training sessions to reduce storm water runoff anticipated due to increasing precipitation in Bridgeport.
