Farnham Farm in Morris Is Conserved

A nearly 300-year-old farm, which remains active, will be preserved in an easement grant to protect the 138-acre property going forward. Farnham Farm, owned by the family of Anne Howson Fellows since 1735, plans to grant major portions of the property to two trusts: The Morris Land Trust and the Connecticut Farmland Trust.

Connecticut Farmland Trust awarded land trust accreditation

Connecticut Farmland Trust seeks national accreditation

The Land Trust Accreditation Commission is now accepting public comment on the Connecticut Farmland Trust’s (CFT) application for Accreditation. With an office in Hartford, CFT is Connecticut’s only statewide land trust and the only land trust dedicated to the protection of agricultural lands.



Jim Gooch named Connecticut Farmland Trust executive director

A new voice will be fighting to preserve Connecticut’s farmland. The Connecticut Farmland Trust has named Jim Gooch as its new Executive Director. Gooch comes to CFT from the Portland, Maine, office of The Trust for Public Land where as Program Director he was instrumental in funding new conservation projects and building diverse partnerships.



Unilever donates to CT Farmland Trust

CT Farm Bureau names Talmage Executive Director

North Canaan Farm Preserved by Connecticut Farmland Trust

HARTFORD – The Connecticut Farmland Trust (CFT) announced in a release that it was thrilled to bring 2010 to a close with the preservation of Dutcher Hill Farm in North Canaan. Lucia Reynolds, along with her thee brothers and four cousins donated an easement on the 33-acre farm to CFT at the end of December.
