ECSU’s Energy Institute to Receive National Award

Eastern Connecticut State University Commissions Fuel Cell Power Plant

Eastern Connecticut State University is partnering with UTC Power of South Windsor, Conn., and the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority (CEFIA), on a project that is increasing energy efficiency at the University. Eastern Works with UTCP on Campus Fuel Cell Project

The fuel cell, which is expected to be operational next April, will be installed on the west side of Eastern’s Science Building. Electric output from the cell will be routed to the main electric room located in the building. Eastern will use 100 percent of the energy produced by the fuel cell system to provide a majority of the power required for the Science Building while maximizing the use of the heat output available from the plant.
