<p>Blumenthal&#8217;s efforts as Connecticut&#8217;s attorney general on behalf of environmental causes, including joining bipartisan fights to block controversial energy projects for Long Island Sound, recently earned him the Sierra Club&#8217;s endorsement.</p>
<p>McMahon, on the other hand, is uncertain about the role humans play in climate change, is open to downsizing the Environmental Protection Agency, and condemns Blumenthal&#8217;s past support for federal pollution standards despite Connecticut&#8217;s having led the way in cap-and-trade initiatives under a Republican governor.</p>
