New Hampshire Gov. pleads with CT Gov. over energy legislation

New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan’s letter says the Connecticut proposal that would allow hydro to be counted toward that state’s renewable energy goals quote, “undermines our common goal of fostering new and small-scale renewable resources here in New England.”

Malloy Defends Esty, Canadian Hydro

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said he probably would have advised his energy commissioner not to participate in a call with investors last week regarding the state’s energy strategy, but he didn’t ask.

First Selectman: Collinsville Has Gained From Dam Study

Collinsville has discovered that it had not been collecting on the state’s Payment In Lieu of Taxes for the upper dam and related infrastructure. The Payment in Lieu of Taxes program gives municipalities funds for state land for which it cannot collect taxes.



U.S. Awards $275G to CT Hydro Project

The United States Department of Agriculture has awarded more than $8 million to hydroelectric power plant projects in Connecticut, Oregon, Utah, and Vermont under the Rural Energy for America Program, including $275,000 to Putnam Greenpower’s project in Connecticut.
