Save the Sound, a program of Connecticut Fund for the Environment, released the following statement today following the announcement that New York’s portion of Long Island Sound has been approved for designation as a No Discharge Zone by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The Congressman from New York has asked the EPA to approve a “No Discharge Zone” designation for all New York waters in Long Island Sound, as requested by the New York State Department of Environmental Protection in August.
