Connecticut transportation officials are asking the public to comment on a proposed hiking and biking trail along the Merritt Parkway. The Connecticut Department of Transportation has scheduled a public workshop Thursday at the Stamford Government Center. The Bluff Point to Preston trail will not include passage through the Groton reservoir system. Based on information from the director of Groton Utilities, which manages the reservoir, and an independent insurance consultant, the City Council decided not to respond to a request from the Bluff Point to Preston Trail Committee.
