Public meeting Monday on Millstone; Some say ‘Close it!’

Perhaps this is why Millstone found it in their budget to sponsor programs on WNPR, Connecticut Public Radio this past weekend (perhaps others but this is the first time I remember hearing ads for Millstone during my Sunday broadcast on WNPR).

On Monday the owner of Millstone Power Station will publicly discuss issues affecting the nuclear complex ranging from a proposed tax on power production to environmental monitoring. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Waterford Town Hall.



NRC identifies minor violations at Millstone in year-end inspection

The federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission has cited Dominion, the owner of the Millstone Power Station, for three minor violations in last year’s quarterly inspection.



Process begun to preserve Miller Pond as drinking water source

Steps began to be taken last night in making Miller Pond a public drinking water reservoir. The 10-square-mile Hunts Brook watershed that feeds it will need to be protected to ensure the water remains potable.
